| Don't Miss EXCO's Best Shows This Fall |
| EXCOs best exhibitions are on the line to be opened in the second half of this year; DAMEX, DIOPS, and DENPO. Diops, waiting to be accredited by the Union of International Fairs, is at the last phase of preparation process, attracting more overseas exhibitors and buyers. DAMEX, once opened, is expected to show the ability of EXCO with doubled size. As a promising exhibition of near future, DENPO is almost ready for a grand debut. |
Daegu International Automatic Machinery & Tools Exhibition |
Daegu International Automatic Machinery & Tools Exhibition One of EXCOs best shows, will be held from 25 to 28 September 2004. This grew so speedily that exhibitors almost doubled this year to 250 from last years 140. Exhibitors will use 600 booths, doubled from last years 350, too. The number of overseas exhibitors jumped to 50, from last years 30, and expected buyers and spectators reaches 25 thousand.
Considering existence of another annual automatic machinery exhibition in Seoul, KOFA, this rapid swelling of exhibition size is considered extraordinary.
To vitalize this exhibition EXCO put best efforts in attracting and inviting prospective buyers that exhibitors want to see the show. EXCO will open a list of the exhibitors and the displayed items as early as possible, to maximize attractiveness of the show. Cyber DAMEX is already open, since July 13, to provide the buyers a glimpse of the up-to-date items and to let them order even before the show begins.

Daegu Children's Educational Materials & Supplies Fair 2003(EDUMAS) |
EDUMAS 2003 the biggest show among like ones in the southeastern part of the country, is scheduled to be held from 2 to 5 October 2003.
Exhibitors, producers of educational materials and education program developers, are excited to see the parents and their toddlers, preschoolers, Kindergarteners. Parents can have the chances to check out various kinds of education materials in one place, wasting little time for searching. Educational materials range over diverse items such as study-assisting materials, information on institutions for toddlers, art, music, and sports learning materials, fun-learning games, playground facilities, multi-media and online learning materials for preschoolers, and contents education materials.
This year, an event related to business education will be included in the show. This special event consists of affiliated events and exhibitions such as; writing competition on business, kids Thrifty Nickel, business quiz, challenging golden bell, lecture from Money business educators, all of which reflecting a booming business education for kids.

Digital Entertainment Industry Exposition (DENPO)

Digital Entertainment Industry Exposition (DENPO) is going to be held at EXCO from 9 to 12 October 2003. If you are a computer game lover, you will be completely dominated by countless game-related items and products that are filled in 400 booths. The products come from all over the world including Japan, Taiwan, China, and, of course, Korea. During the show a national-level game-playing competition run by The Center for Digital Industry Promotion of Daegu will be held, toward which big number of game players are expected to be attracted.

Daegu International Optical Show |

Daegu International Optical Show is expected to be the first exhibition accredited by the Union of International Fairs (UFI) in the country except the ones held in Seoul.
Of 633 exhibitions accredited by the UFI, only three are held in Korea; Korea International Automation, Instrumentation and Control System Exhibition, Seoul International Exhibition of Machinery, Science and Technology for Agriculture, and Seoul International Photo & Imaging Industry Show, all of which are held in COEX, Seoul. Meanwhile, 145 accredited exhibitions are held in Germany, 29 in France, 24 in Sweden, 15 in China, 14 in Hong Kong, 15 in Singapore, 10 in United Kingdom.
The rate of international exhibitors during last two DIOPSs were over 20 percent, and international buyers and visitors were over four percent, which is more than enough for the accredition. These numerical figures are expected to be repeated, if not enlarged, this year, judged by the application for participation so far.
As DIOPS organizers extend overseas road shows for better awareness of this exhibition, International Optical Fair Tokyo (IOFT) organizers carried out their own road show at EXCO in July, 2003. Japans response explains the level of intensifying competition among domestic and overseas optical goods producers in domestic, as well as global markets. This keen competition is expected to be observed in coming DIOPS this year.
In this years DIOPS show, the biggest exhibitor will be Drigo group that will use, huge, 25 booths to display their brand products; POLICE, STING, LOZZA, and ROLLING, along with its license brands such as CELINE, LOEWE, FENDI, ETRO, and GIVENCHY. Sewon Ltd., a Korean manufacture, applied to run a separate road show of its own, called Prada club, in the conference room of EXCO during DIOPS.

Daegu International Dyeing Industry Exhibition (DYTEX) |

A show that symbolizing Daegu, known for its flourishing textile and dyeing business, Daegu International Dyeing Industry Exhibition (DYTEX) will be held from 20 to 23 November 2003.
This year, digital and natural dyeing fields that are selected as promising industry fields in near future by Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy were added to the exhibition. Addition of these new fields can be a great inspiration for the industry.
120 corporations from 5 countries applied for participation so far. DYTEX 2003 International Dyeing Technology Seminar will provide abundant up-to-date information on technologies developed and used by countries such as U.S., Japan, and China.
To beef up international cooperation, EXCO participated in TEX-STYLE INDIA of New Delhi, Apparel Fair & Accessories Fair of Beijing. Both parties in each cases agreed to cooperate mutually.

The First Daegu Gift Fair 2003 |

Premiere of Daegu Gift Fair 2003 will be held from 27 to 30 November. Gifts, sales-promotion items, housewares, holiday items will be exhibited at the venue of 3.872 m space, 200 booths. At this event award-winning items from National Competition for Tourist Gifts Design run by the Korea National Tourism Organization will be showcased in separate section.
Daegu City will host the Fair, EXCO and Daegu-Kyungbuk Handicrafts Cooperative co-run it. Once settled in, this event is expected to boost consumer goods industry of Daegu city, serving as a bridgehead for the local businesses expansion toward overseas market.
