WHO Forum Assembling great world scholars from 30 countries |
The 2003 Daegu-Gyeongbuk International Oriental Medicine
Show and the International Forum are hosted in April.
These events focus on studying the mysteries of traditional
medicine and presenting Daegu-Gyeongbuk's oriental medicine
traditions to the world by the world¡¯s great scholars.
EXCO hosts the Daegu-Gyeongbuk International Oriental
Medicine Show from Wednesday, April 16 to Sunday, April
20 and will feature displays of oriental medicinal stuff,
medicinal materials and medical equipments. This exhibition
is also held with the World Health Organization Forum
and the Korean Oriental Medical Seminar, and is joined
by scholars from 30 countries and national oriental
medicine doctors. In addition, the Daegu Tour EXPO is
also held from April 17 to April 20 to introduce Daegu-Gyeongbuk
regions tourism industry.
In the exhibition, various items and businesses will
be presented including oriental medical materials, oriental
medicine hospitals, health bios, medical health information
solutions, medical IT companies, products for oriental
skin and beauty, diet clinics and products, home medical
equipments, health auxiliary equipments, health food
and functional food, books and videos, among others.
According to Youn Hyoung-seok , the exhibition project
manager of EXCO, ¡°Two oriental medicine colleges are
located in Yangnyeongsi, the biggest domestic medical
materials market. The Daegu-Gyeongbuk region also has
plenty oriental medicine resources because Daegu is
a Mecca of the oriental medicine industry, and Daegu
City and the Gyeongbuk state government are considering
to make it a base of oriental medicine. The exhibition,
therefore, will be a great chance to industrialize oriental
medicine as well as to study it.¡±
For the development of EXCO and its international trade
infrastructure, the cooperation of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk
region is very much required. Daegu City will co-host
the International Oriental Medicine Show with Gyeongsangbuk-do.
This and the Daegu Tour Expo will be an opportunity
to provide oriental medicine theme tours and to assist
Daegu-Gyeongbuk tourism. The 2003 DIOMS will be co-hosted
by EXCO and the Hansol Trade Fair Co. Ltd., and Shanghai
CCPIT and Peking CIEC in China will participate as overseas
cooperative institutions. |
