Optical Industry Express Interest in EXCO Daegu |
| Competition
of Korea, Japan, America and European countries in the
DIOPS, a new international exhibition. |
Exciting
atmosphere of exhibitors rush to application for participants |
 |
DIOPS 2002, one of
the representative exhibitions in Daegu, will
be held on November 1~3 in a scale much larger
than the usual invitation exhibition. Despite
its brief history, DIOPS has entered the international
exhibition arena in 2002 via a mega-sized exhibition
participated by 210 companies exhibiting in 685
booths. |
|
| Among its participants, 62 companies in 173 booths
are from overseas comprising 25% of all participants.
Local companies number 148 in 512 booths. The ratio
of participation exceeds the standard of international
exhibition accredited by international exhibition associations.
EXCO Daegu is, therefore, expected to obtain accreditation
from the Union of International Fairs(UFI) next year.

A large number of overseas participants with the successful
overseas road show |
| A specific characteristic of DIOPS
2002 is the participation of overseas companies.
Officials of DIOPS aimed to introduce innovations
in Korean eyewear to the world market by globalizing
DIOPS, attracting participants and buyers from
overseas, as supported by the DIOPS PR booth in
the foreign famous optical events. The DIOPS PR
participated in such international exhibitions
as the Dubai Optics Exhition last February, the
Shanghai exhibition and the New York Vision Expo
last March and the MIDO in Milan last May. |
|
|
| The PR arm has likewise hosted road shows
in China, Japan and Singapore, attracting group participants
from Europe, China, Japan and Southeast Asia, while
constructing the overseas cooperation pavilion. Mutual
cooperation between Daegu and the world eyewear manufacturing
cities is instrumental in attracting buyers and participants.
The road show in China, one of the world's largest eyewear
manufacturing countries, attracted 14 companies in 15
booths, including the group booth of the Wenzhou eyewear
manufacturers. Overseas companies that participated
in this exhibition number 55 participants including
Hukui eyewear association in Japan, Sapilro in Italy,
Rodenstock in Germany, Miccle in France etc.. Local
participants are located on the first and third floors
and overseas participants are located on the fifth floor,
representing the current state and innovation of the
eyewear industry in the world. |

for one year through participation in DIOPS 2002.
New product developments will be showcased in
DIOPS 2002, especially from companies that just

major eyeglasses manufacturing cities in the world

the conference.
They will also take part in establishing the Asian
Federation of Optical Association. Academic conferences
with prominent local and international figures,
