Subway.... Now,
the subway is a primary transportation system
in Daegu. Presently, Line 1 operates in a 28.3Km
block of track between Wolbae, in southwest Daegu
and Ansim, located in the northeast part of the
city. Line 2 under construction will be in service
for a route from Seongseo in western Daegu to
Gosan in the east. Also, in an underground space
at the Banwoldang, Duryu, and Samdeok crossroads,
where lines 1 and 2 meet, a parking lot, transfer
station, cultural center, and commercial shopping
area will be developed.
Daegu is also investigating new ways of transportation
such as a PRT connection to the existing and subway
lines.

Train.... The development of station
areas is in smooth progress with the start of Gyeongbu
rapid transit railroad construction. Daegu station
is going to put on quite a new face. The completion
of station and attached buildings, covering 141,620§³,
with convenient facilities, department stores and
parking lots will present energetic city life to
us. The neighborhood of Dongdaegu station will be
a transportation center which connects Gyeongbu
rapid transit railroad, national railways, airport
and bus terminals. Also, a business complex dealing
with information, finance, insurance and culture
will be constructed in and around the station. |
