Subway and Railroads passing through the heart of a city
|
Fast, safe and pleasant, Daegu's Subway along with Dongdaegu
and Daegu Train Stations are quickly becoming the feet
of Daegu citizens. |

|
Subway line One, which
started operating in1997, has been growing as a
convenient means of transportation. Subway line
Two will be in operation in 2005, and construction
of subway lines Three and Four will begin later
after feasibility studies.
Together with the construction of Gyeongbu Rapid
Transit Railroad, which will connect Seoul to Daegu
in 80 minutes, both Daegu and Dongdaegu train stations,
which promote the local area development, will become
the mainstay rail network of Daegu City. |

Roads and Air Routes - open to the world and the future |
As the center of human interchange and logistics, Daegu
is an inland transportation hub linking with the world.
In Daegu, where four highways -- the Gyeongbu, Jung
Ang, 88, and Guma -- meet two railroads, three additional
highways are under construction. By making major downtown
road three-dimensional and constructing the fourth city
expressway, Daegu is making every effort to encourage
a smooth flow of traffic. To meet the international
demands, Daegu International Passenger Terminal was
completed in May of 2001. Between Daegu and Osaka, Japan,
air service is now in operation, and we will soon have
direct flights to Shanghai and Qingtao, China. Because
of the increasing demand for international air travel,
Daegu City is further planning regular flights to major
cities in South Asia and Japan such as Singapore, Bangkok
and Tokyo.
